The Fruitties

An animated series produced in Spain by D’Ocón film productions in 1987.

The full-color animation with melodic songs tells the story of the little girl Kumba, who, with the help of her fruit friends, searches for her missing parents.

Pineapple Roly, the curious banana, the cactus Thorny and Kumba stood in a semicircle in the park.

Kumba is a little girl dressed in a skirt and bustier made of green leaves. She has large wide-eyed and cheerful eyes, and a yellow flower is woven into her braided hair.

Roly is a pineapple with a southern Spanish accent, eccentric and poetic, but very lazy and always gets into trouble. He tends to brag and get into trouble, but he has proven to be resourceful. The brownish pineapple with a checkered decoration and a spherical nose has a hat of green leaves. He closed his eyes as if thinking and licked the fingers of his left hand.

The banana is yellow and oblong. Each time he pulls something huge out of the small backpack, such as a balloon, a ship, a tent, and other life-saving tools. He tends to pick on Roly because of his laziness and boastfulness, but still admires his sense of humor and ingenuity.

Thorny is a green cactus with large thorns, has the shape of a tennis racket, but with legs and arms. Three hair-like thorns protrude from his head. His smile is almost as wide as his face.
