The favorite series of young and not so small The Powerpuff Girls returns with new episodes on Cartoon Network from April 23, from 09:10.

The sister trio of superheroes Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are known to their fellow citizens from Townsville as ''The Powerpuff Girls''. Together they defend their beautiful and crowded metropolis not only from evil encroachments but even only from cuts for such.

Professor Utonium created them using sugar, spices, and all the best, with the idea of creating the perfect little girls. Then his assistant monkey in the lab, Jojo, pushes him and he unwittingly spills the mysterious Chemical X on the mixture. This causes an explosion and so the girls appear. However, Jojo is also affected by the chemical and gets his huge brain, now renaming Mojo Jojo. He became the main supervillain genius of Townsville and built an observatory on the top of the active volcano in the city center. Other supervillains are He, the Princess, the Negative Boys, created by Mojo Jojo, Fuzzy Lumpkins, and others.

''The Powerpuff Girls" is one of the oldest original series on Cartoon Network. The first series of the series was created by Craig McCracken and premiered in 1996. The show has won two Emmys.

Apart from them, in the history of all its 78 episodes so far, the series has enjoyed five nominations and countless awards in the field of animation. In 2002, thanks to a collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures, a feature film inspired by the animated series was released.
